On October 24, the 2023 Trip.com Group Global Partner Summit concluded in Singapore. Wulong Scenic Area, a leading destination in Chongqing’s tourism sector, was invited to the summit exhibition. At the award ceremony, Wulong was honored with Trip.com’s Marketing Strategic Partner Award.
To make full use of this platform for international exchanges and collaborations, representatives of Wulong set up a cultural tourism-themed exhibition, conducted on-site promotions, and prepared marketing leaflets, aiming to enhance the global recognition of Wulong as a picturesque world natural heritage site.
Themed “Natural Beauties of Wulong, a World Heritage Site”, the Wulong exhibition space showcased the beauty of its major attractions, including the Fairy Mountain, Three Natural Bridges, Furong Cave, Longshui Gorge Ground Fissure, and White Horse Mountain. Moreover, the local specialities and cultural and creative products presented by Wulong at the exhibition captured the attention of many Singaporean visitors, many of whom made a purchase. These specialties included Fairy Mountain black tea, Yangjiao dried bean curd, hot and sour glass noodle soup, and Wulong sweet potato noodles, and the culturally-inspired offerings are Wulong scenic spot-themed stamps, Wulong ceremonial gifts and others.
The Wulong Karst region is endowed with rich natural resources and is home to 654 exploitable cultural and natural tourism resources, which are densely distributed throughout the area. It is one of the few regions in the country to be honored as a world natural heritage site, a top-tier tourism village, a national whole-area tourism demonstration zone, a national tourism resort, a national 5A-class scenic spot. It is also a base for turning natural resources into economic gains, and national ecological culture demonstration area – one of the few regions in the country to achieve such recognition. In recent years, Wulong has consistently received high praise, firmly securing the first place on Trip.com’s list of must-visit attractions in Chongqing.
It is worth noting that at the award ceremony of Trip.com Group’s Global Partner Summit, Wulong District won the 2023 Marketing Strategic Partner Award as a deserved victor. According to statistics, compared with the same period in 2019, Wulong Scenic Area’s ticket sales on Trip.com in 2023 saw an increase of 371% year-on-year, with user attention rising by 3 times and 95% of tourist ratings being favorable.
As Wulong begins its third attempt to innovate and invigorate its tourism with the drive of globalization, it centers on enhancing industrial chains and increasing contributions. Efforts have been made to create 6 industrial chains namely academic research tour, sports, art, healthcare, dating, and service to build a tourism product system. In the future, Wulong will join hands with Trip.com to focus on the high-quality development of its tourism in the new era. The following steps includes devising “Travel + X” consumption promotion plans with a focus on tourism brand building and holding events such as the Spring Season Wuling China Traveler’s Forum 2024.
